Black Wednesday (no, not that Black Wednesday): The day after the MLB All-Star game. Arguably the quietest sports day of the year. One of only two days each year when the Big Four (NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB) are off.
So why hasn't someone stepped up to fill the void? Why doesn't someone attempt to capitalize on this?
Here's a thought: The Arena Football League has its championship this coming weekend. In the future, maybe today would be a good time-slot for the AFL to maximize fan interest.
